Ajnabi the video

If there is someone who I forgot to mention in the recently conducted awards of mine ,it was Faraz who would’ve strolled away with the breakthrough artist of the year. Now before I continue, please do not think that I am missing Aaishah Akram since she can ,after Hadiqa Kiani take Pakistani music forward for the females in the country.

Coming back to Faraz, I saw the video of Ajnabi and I was bowled over with the visuals so perfectectly accentuating the song. The video being aesthetically rich and the song being musically rich. These are the type of songs which make me say that the melody IS the most important part of a song.Listen to such type of songs and it makes you open your ears in order to catch the credits of the makers.
The acting is great and bravo to  Sohail for creating such a touching video, it pokes at the wound ,enticing you to reach for the bandages,as a recall for all of you ,Mr.Sohail was successful in creating a similar feeling with Aaishah Akrams Beqarar . Helpless women and dead soul men. Certainly takes the cake for being the best video from all the releases since January.

Catch the video here and let me know your thoughts about it.

Ahsan Rahim is done with his new video and from the trailer , the video looks rocking and not only is of the international level but holds its head high among them.

It’s about time that Pakistani video directors start getting awards in film festivals for their music videos atleast in the short films category and with the epic videos beind made that go great with the epic music being made by Pakistani musicians ,trailers are now the only way forward, just take a look at this trailer and let me know whether it is any less than a trailer for a Hollywood flick !!

Abhi Abhi

Fariha Parvez is reviving her musical career it seems, her new song is a slow tempo track with soft vocals.

The video has been directed by Sohail Javed and he has shown a very common social problem: philandering husbands ( or to put it n this way, rich philandering husbands). Fahad Mustafa plays the husband.

The video also brings forward a strong willed woman, who can go on alone, stand by her own self and not
be on the mercy of the husband.Up until today, women have been at the mercy of their husbands who would abuse them and so forth. Women didn’t have a choice, Kudos to Sohail Javed for bringing forward such a woman in the video.

A mans Ego is also depicted in the form that once the wife is leaving, he doesn’t fall down on his knees and
doesn’t do anything to stop his wife. Unbreakable ego..

Zau- Bhula Na Paaonga

Lighting is to a picture what a melody is to a song.

Although, the tune doesn’t sound modern but the way the day to day words have been integrated in to the
excellent melody to make a very easy to listen to track, is commendable.
Since I am providing a video link to the song therefore I must mention the video too,
although it is a performance based video but the silhouette capturing is ironically
refreshing to look at.

Truly a track that will be listened to for many years to come.

Teri Perchaian

I never carefully noticed the video for Ali Azmats Teri Perchaian until recently and all of a sudden I am considering to be the best music video ever made in Pakistan. Directed by Zeeshan Parvez it is an animated video and it manages to touch your heart and soul . The sequence at 3:57 just squeezes the heart and makes a tear jump off from the corner of the eye.

The director incorporates the senses of sight , sound and TOUCH (most beautiful utilization) in the character and as repercussions to those senses the character experiences a range of emotions fear, joy sadness etc.The overall feel which looms at large is that of loss. The whole city is shown devastated and the only human being left alive is the main character
( is this where the shots of I am Legend trailers came from?)

The video also has what is probably the biggest mystery of life Kismet. The boy being unable to accomplish what he wants to from his actions . Story no.1 ends with the boy finding hope and is seen living in the moment with what he has rather than what he has lost.

But it doesn’t mean that the video has a happy ending because there is a part 2 of the video in which the girl takes influence from the storybook which she is reading .Apparently story no.1 turns out to be a storybook that has been put in visualization for us. The point forwarded here, is how(inadvertently) what we read and watch, influences our minds and makes it biased. This is shown when the girl wants to jump in the swimming pool after reading the story (scene one from the boy sequence) and because she is young, she fails to understand that the boy in story no.1 makes the same move because he has lost everything he had.

Over all brilliant video with lots of things to learn and ponder over.

END NOTE: Be careful what you expose yourself to, it could influence you the wrong way.
